Where's My Confidence?/¿Dónde Está Mi Confianza?

Most of you know that, this year, I will be training for my third marathon (each: 26.2 miles) with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. And, it's the big one... NYC! Training started a month ago. It's been crazy! I haven't run all winter. So, I decided to join an extra running class yesterday. Of course, I dragged my husband along for the ride. How did it go, you ask? Well, in the middle of the class, as everyone passed me, I reverted to 2nd grade. A time when my self confidence was low. On the sixth 200 meter, my husband asked how I was doing and I almost cried. Serious! I don't know what happened! Where was the confident Erin?
Then, on the eigth one, something happened. Everyone started cheering for me to finish. In that moment, it hit me! I am not competing with them. They are not judging me. And, even if they were, that's their problem. The only person judging me was.... me! So, I said a quick prayer. "God, please help me be kind to myself".
So, did I finish? Yup! Not well, but who's judging? My confident side says, "not I"!
(ESP)La mayoría de usted sabe eso, este año, yo estaré entrenando para mi tercer maratón (cada: 26.2 millas) con la Sociedad de Leucemia y Linfoma. Y, es el grande... ¡NYC! La instrucción comenzó hace un mes. ¡Ha estado loco! Yo no he corrido todo invierno. Así, ayer, decidí unir un exceso que corre la clase. Por supuesto, arrastré a mi marido por para el paseo. ¿Cómo fue, usted pregunta? Bien, en medio de la clase, como todos me pasaron, volví a segundo grado. Un tiempo cuando mi confianza en sí mismo fue baja. En el sexto 200 metro, mi marido preguntó cómo hacía y... yo casi lloré. ¡Realmente! ¡Yo no sé lo que paso! ¿Dónde estuvo el Erin seguro?
Entonces, en el octavo uno, algo sucedió. Todos empezaron a vitorear para mí terminar. ¡En ese momento, me golpeó! Yo no compito con ellos. Ellos no me juzgan. Y, incluso si ellos fueran, eso es su problema. ¡La única persona que juzga mí fue. ... mí! Así, dije una oración rápida. "Dios, por favor me ayuda soy amable a yo". ¿Así, terminé yo? ¡Sí! ¿No bien, pero quién juzga? ¡Mi lado seguro dice, "no yo"!

Burma/Birmania

After a cyclone this past Saturday, Burma (Myanmar) has become a country so in need. This is not the first sign of trouble for this junta run country. Political and religious unrest has caused the Dalai Lama to speak out (see my blog "Dalai Lama Steps Down?/¿El Dalai Lama Renuncía?" under the archive "03/16 - 03/23").
But, will they accept the help of countries they have repeatedly turned away for years now? They say they will, but are making it very difficult. All we can do is wait and pray. In the meantime, the military that is running this country and so at odds with its own people, have a real opportunity. They could win the hearts and souls of the people by a swift response. So far, they have chosen not to do so. Click the title "Burma" for the history of this troubled country.
